“What if financial hardship never stopped a child from pursuing their education?” This was the question we asked ourselves in 2015 as a company, as we thought of ways to give back to our community. A decade later, this question has been answered through the Future Leaders Educational Fund. And while we remain on the journey toward our full vision, 9th October 2025 marked a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate ten years of meaningful impact. This celebration was marked with a short ceremony at the Automation Hub Auditorium in the presence of the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Baatsona Tema West Municipal Assembly Primary School. Employees of Process and Plant Automation Ltd, and other key stakeholders were also present to celebrate a decade of genuine smiles on the faces of over seventy underprivileged students at the Baatsona Tema West Municipal Assembly Primary School. A decade of relief for parents and families, during which they have neither had to toil to afford basic schooling necessities for these children, nor worry about how to protect their children’s dreams, despite their situations. Our support over these past ten years has ensured that these young minds can one day become future leaders and high achievers in society, much like their more advantaged peers, through the great equalizer that education is.
Every year since 2015, a minimum of two students have been enrolled, and over sixty students have been supported since inception. Many of these beneficiaries were enrolled at the basic level, and continue to be supported until they take their BECE exam. In special cases, assistance has extended beyond the JHS level. It is worth mentioning that our interventions have not been limited to the academic lives of the students only. We have been able to cater to the medical needs of some of our beneficiaries and provide financial assistance to students to help with meals on school days.
A Decade of Impact: Key Milestones (2015-2025)
Our commitment has grown from a simple idea to a profound cause, thanks to the continuous support of our stakeholders. Here are the major achievements realized over the past decade:
Within the first five years, the fund had achieved the following:
Infrastructure Upgrade
- We connected the school to the national electricity grid,
- Donated teachers’ tables and chairs and
- Provided desks to improve comfort and classroom organization
Supporting Learning Resources
- We supplied essential school materials to enhance teaching and learning.
Community Support in Crisis
- We delivered COVID-19 relief items to protect students and staff during the pandemic.
Inspiring Future Aspirations – Career Fair Experience at The Automation Hub
Students visited our workplace to get a first-hand view of career possibilities.
Each student was paired with an employee aligned to their interests, engaging in activities such as:
- Basic computer skills
- Internet and email usage
- Workplace ethics
The sessions helped build confidence, broaden aspirations, and spark curiosity about their futures.
STEM Investment – The Launch of the Infinity Club
In 2020, we established a STEM education club -the Infinity Club-for upper primary and JHS students aimed at nurturing interest in Science and Mathematics in a fun, exciting, and relatable way
This is currently led weekly by young engineers who mentor learners through:
- Hands-on experiments
- Building simple models
- Collaborative and problem-solving activities
Current membership: 75 active learners
Welfare and Support
We extended support beyond academics by covering the medical bills of ailing students, providing counselling for social struggles, and offering basic needs support to severely disadvantaged families. We have intervened when some beneficiaries almost dropped out of school as a result of negative peer group pressure. We have supported some learners with sanitary items to ensure they appear in school appropriately. We have done all this to ensure the general well-being of the children, with the objective of guaranteeing they remain in school.
