Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Policy

The Automation Ghana Group (TAGG) is a consortium comprising three companies; Process and Plant Automation Limited (PPA), Automation Solutions Limited (ASL), and Electrical Switchgear Limited (ESL).These three companies provide complementary electromechanical solutions and services.

With its headquarters situated at the Automation Hub on the Spintex Road in Accra Ghana, TAGG employs over two hundred people, and is committed to its mission; to transform the lives of stakeholders by providing unique electrical and automation services through innovation, training, and exceptional customer service. TAGG aspires to expand its scope beyond the borders of Ghana, to become West Africa’s choice for smart solutions.The health and safety of workers and other relevant stakeholders, the protection of the environment, and the sustainability of the business are of top priority to the management of TAGG, and to ensure these objectives are achieved, management commits to;

  1. Provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health and ensure that work activities do not negatively impact the environment.
  2. Identify and eliminate hazards and reduce all OHS&E risks, to prevent injuries, illnesses, property damage, and environmental pollution.
  3. Comply to all legal requirements and other requirements, and achieve all compliance obligations as applicable to the company.
  4. Consult workers and their representatives on all OHS&E matters, and encourage their participation. Worker consultation and participation shall be thoroughly ensured.
  5. Investigate OHS&E incidents to prevent recurrence and identify opportunities for improvement.
  6. Ensure continual improvement of the OHS&E management system.

Top management shall;

  1. Demonstrate visible leadership and provide required resources.
  2. Train employees to identify and control OHS&E hazards and risks, and climate change issues associated with their work.
  3. Ensure tools and equipment are available and adequately maintained to carry out work in a manner that prevents injuries, occupational illness, and environmental pollution.
  4. Provide guidelines and procedures, and safe systems of work, to prevent OHS&E incidents.
  5. Provide motivation and avenues for consultation and participation of workers and other interested parties on OHS&E matters.
  6. Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the management system to determine and implement improvement opportunities.
  7. Continuously and regularly review the OHS&E Management System to improve.
  8. Set annual OHS&E objectives consistent with this policy.

TAGG’s OHS&E Management System shall be in conformance with the ISO 45001:2018 standard and shall be reviewed annually for relevance, and improvement where required, to ensure continued suitability. This policy and climate change concerns will be our guide to engagements with Interested Parties. This policy shall be made available to all interested parties through our communication plan and retained as a controlled document.
